THE appointment of former Zimbabwe international Onismor Bhasera as FC Platinum assistant coach could further make the Zvishavane-based side a force to reckon with in the Castle Lager Premiership.
Bhasera’s appointment was announced yesterday.
His development as a player and his rise, which saw him play in England and South Africa at a high level for nearly two decades, means he has much to give back.
“Bhasera joins Pure Platinum Play bringing with him a wealth of experience from a distinguished playing and coaching career,” FC Platinum chief executive Collen Nikisi said in a statement.
The former Zimbabwe international will work alongside head coach Thabo Senong, replacing Reneilwe “Yeye” Letsholonyane, who has left the club to take up a head-coaching position in Botswana.
Bhasera, 40, joins FC Platinum with coaching experience gained in the South African Premiership, where he has worked on the technical teams of SuperSport United and Siwelele FC.
FC Platinum believes the coming on board of Bhasera will strengthen the club’s technical department.
“His experience, leadership and understanding of the game will add valuable depth to our technical team as we continue to strengthen the club and build for the future,” said Nikisi
Bhasera will work closely with Senong, with FC Platinum expecting the former left-back to play a role in player development and the continued strengthening of the squad.
“Working alongside head coach Thabo Senong, Bhasera will be part of a technical team focused on developing our players, strengthening the squad and ensuring that FC Platinum remains competitive at the highest level,” said Nikisi.
“This appointment is part of our continued commitment to building a strong foundation for the club while maintaining our ambition to compete for honours,” said Nikisi.
