What you need is in you

Every king was once a crying baby, a proverb goes and it runs so true and so deep. Every great person you can think of; religious, government and corporate leaders, great footballers, famous singers etc.

They were all once babies. Everything they later on became was in them already as a baby.

Similarly, everything that is in you today; your body stature, muscles and brains were there already when you were just a tiny cell in your mother’s womb. All they did for you to be what you are now was develop.

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,” says the Word in Jeremiah 1 verse 5. God had a unique purpose for you before creating you and when He did, He befittingly equipped you for that purpose.

You are definitely not an accident or an afterthought and neither are you just a drop in the ocean.

You are a masterpiece, created for a divine purpose by an Almighty God, who never make mistakes. You were created to be a success story!

If what you are today has always been within you even as a baby, it goes without say that everything you are ever going to be is already in you right now.

This may include the creativity that is going to enhance your life and that of others, businesses that will turn lives around, the successes stories; they are all in you; not evident maybe, but waiting to be developed or to be tapped into.

William James once said that, “We all have reservoirs of life to draw upon, of which we do not even dream!”

Here is where most of us miss it; we ignore what is inside us and start looking for validation outside. We allow ourselves to be distracted by situations, letting circumstances rule over our abilities.

Most successful people have different and diverse backgrounds.

Some were born in happy families, some in broken ones, some were dumped at birth, some never receive formal education and some lost their jobs.

They never let external forces define them but gave prominence to what was in them.

Looking at your own adverse situations, you may be tempted to think your life is jeopardised.

You may have lost people, marriage, money, business, dignity or prestige but if you are still alive, it means you can fulfil your destiny without what you lost.

It served its purpose in your life for the time that it was there and now that it’s gone, you need to let it go.

Desperately holding on and continuously mourning over what is gone can deter you from seeing what remains, which is actually what is important for taking you to the next level.

You do not need what you have lost to succeed, you need what remains, usually within you, which can never be lost or stolen.

The Lord declares, “Behold, I’m doing a new thing. Now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?”

Sometimes we get blinded by tears of mourning what’s no longer there that we fail to see His glory in what remains; the skills we can learn, the ideas we can develop, the greater heights we can climb and the limitless potential in us.

You may have tried at one point and failed dismally but instead of letting it go as you should, you are clinging on to the bitter memory, making it a benchmark of your capabilities.

Remember, success is not about never failing.

It is about picking yourself up, noting the lessons and moving on.

If you are going to reach the ceilling of your success, you need to learn to let things go and focus more on what is within.

You may lose money, but you never lose the ability to make or attract wealth, that has always been within you even as a baby.

You may lose a job but never the skills you learnt. Continue to invest in your internal values.

That way, you become powerful and more resilient to handle life’s ups and downs, as you move upwards where you are destined to be!
