Several people have approached me seeking my recommendation on the best smartphone to buy. Admittedly I have no definite answer to that question, because people have different tastes and preferences and consider different aspects when it comes to phone of their choice. Most probably the frequently asked question is what is the best smartphone on the market? While the same question may mean something completely different, and depending on whom you ask theanswer would be subjective and limited to the resources one has.
Most salesman will likely point to the most expensive phone on the market because they will have a higher mark up on the deal after the sale yet the phone will not be the best on the market.
While the price of a smartphone may imply that it has the best specs, this fact is not always true as there are many other factors that influence pricing like the season, shipping costs and buying prices that determines the final prices before it lands into our Zimbabwean market. Besides the world’s most expensive smartphone is a low end feature phone coated in gold.
Now that I have clarified the pricing issue, another matter of importance is the specifications of a phone. What kind of specifications are you looking for and what exactly are you buying the phone for.
I will not delve much into high end specifications, this is probably one area which anyone who is tech savvy may already know and they will buy a smartphone that is capable of delivering job, but more importantly is are you looking for a beast or beauty in a smartphone.
However, the best specifications are powered by latest processor types with many internal core processes like octacore processors, higher internal memory, (RAM) for quick procession, high camera resolution with latest technology that captures in low light and last but not least, high display screen resolution that makes your phone a darling to look at.
While all these really make the basics of a smartphone, it’s also refreshing to learn that most smartphones today come with this package.
The simplest way to differentiate all these technical issues for an average user is to simply ask whether it’s a low end or high end smartphone.
This does not make any low end fake, it simply makes it cheaper because it was manufactured with lower demands that specifically meet a budget smartphones, and high end smartphones will be pricey because manufacturing costs were higher.
This week I have picked a unique, spec powered high end smartphone that will be a darling for most users in Zimbabwe to take on whole day engulfed in beauty of high tech.
The latest Gtel XL7 is one smartphone that has one obvious feature that you do not need to explain. It is beautiful and perfectly curved to steal any attention from the latest high-end smartphones.
I personally picked the golden carved beauty as it perfectly re-defines beauty in smartphones. While the outside look of the smartphone is not the only worthwhile feature to talk about, it’s refreshing to note that it’s one of the earliest smartphones on the market to carry a type C USB cable in Zimbabwe.
Why a Type C USB? Simply because it’s the port of the future speed, this has a whooping Thunderbolt 3 support which moves at a 10Gbps transfer rate and 3A charging capacity.
Interestingly the original cable is a fully-featured active and electronically marked that contains a chip with an ID function based on the configuration channel and vendor-defined messages (VDMs) from the USB Power Delivery 2.0 specification.
The good thing about this smartphone port is little time spent while charging your phone which of course is supported by the 3000mAh battery.
With so much speed it’s easy to back up, it will take you very few minutes to offload or transfer pictures from the smartphone hard drive.
Half the times most people regret losing their personal pictures or videos when a phone crashes or is stolen simply because it takes time to back up to an external hard drive or storage.
Besides my obvious excitement over the type C USB cable and port, the new Gtel XL7 is a high end smartphone 3GB RAM, 1.3 ghz octa core processor and 4G LTE capabilities. This ranks it as one of the top smartphones in Zimbabwe.
