White House does down fighting

As a typical American when I was living there I visited the nation’s capital, Washington, DC, many times.
As is everyone else when talking about their visit – I was present the heart of the technical legalities and home of the Federal government – as opposed to the individual capitals of the 50 states, which, together make up the United States.

Here we have a film which, among many other qualities, makes it unnecessary for US citizen or foreigner alike to travel physically to visit the site: no visitor will ever see it as conclusively or intimately.

I have every intention to enquire to learn how both the exteriors and the interiors were so intimately and accurately captured.
And perhaps most important the enemy desirous of laying ruin to this monumental centre that which holds together the 50 individual state governments is one man who possesses powers almost equal to the presidency.

That he is able to do this constitutes one of the two reasons I cannot give the film top rating; its plot is certainly far fetched.
The other is the determination of the film’s makers to introduce into the plot the devotion of a father to his daughter which, in my opinion, guides and determines his movements and his emotions.

Granted none of this need seriously deter the cinema goer from seeing a film which is as instructive as it is destructive.
Washington, DC, the American capital, is torn apart, achieved by the genius of modern filmmaking.

Nor should we be surprised at this demonstration of the skills of the director, Roland Emerich, who previously gave us “Independence Day”, “The Day After Tomorrow” and “2012”.
Most important to both the good guys and the bad guys is the existence of our modern communicative skills: which tempt to wonder: what will the future hold in this area.
This film is highly recommended.
