SOCIAL media has been gripped with the Warriors this week ahead of their make-or-break Nations Cup showdown against Tanzania at the National Sports Stadium tomorrow. As usual, there has been the good, the bad and the ugly and some people, against all expectations, even wished the Taifa Stars well.Here is part of what has been trending on social media:

The most disturbing news from the camp is that players haven’t been paid their outstanding allowances, let alone their bonuses of reaching the semi-finals of the CHAN 2014 tournament in South Africa. When they went to Tanzania players were only given US$15 allowance per day and now in camp they are (being) given nothing. Some fools running Zifa have failed to support the players and coach Ian Gorowa but opting to spend their time on petty issues, which have nothing to do with football.
They are just good at trying to score cheap points against each other. Are we really serious as a nation to allow such rubbish in our favourite sport?
I feel some of these clueless people are trying to sabotage Ian Gorowa so that he loses the forthcoming game. These imbeciles, which have been at Zifa for years, have failed dismally to run the association, let alone improve the standard of football in this country.
They only know corruption and match-fixing, they are just anti-football merchants masquerading as football administrators. Zifa needs cleaning up, needs external auditors to check why it is in so much debt when it has never paid, in full, salaries and bonuses of players and coaches in the last decade.
Why the Zifa president sometimes funds the association from his own pocket, what is his interest and benefits from doing so? The rotten system shouldn’t be allowed to continue at Zifa and it’s time to expose them.

Failure is not an option for the Warriors come this very Sunday at the National Sports Stadium. We definitely should “climb Mount Kilimanjaro and hoist our national flag on the summit of that mountain”. The warriors should play like a “hungry shark sensing a bleeding dolphin trying to flee.”

Personally, I think the Zimbabwe Warriors have arguably the worst supporters in the world, never united, always insulting each other and the team. Watch how South Africans get behind Bafana Bafana despite how horrible their team is. Consider the Zambians, the Tswana even Sihlangu they support their national team far much better than us. Can we please try it, just this once, and see the difference, if it fails then we can revert to demonising the Warriors, the coach, the technical team like we are used to.
