Wife blames hubby’s bed-wetting on mistress

Court Reporter
A woman yesterday left the gallery in stitches when she revealed that her husband was being influenced by his girlfriend to wet the bed each time he comes home drunk. Tendai Mabveko told Harare Civil Court magistrate Ms Babra Masinire that her husband David Andirigu was in the habit of physically abusing her whenever she tried to reprimand him against bed wetting.

“It was his nephew who told me that my husband was being influenced by his girlfriend to urinate on the blankets to fix me.”
Mabveko claimed Andirigu was in the habit of taking all their groceries to his girlfriend and was subjected to violence if she dared challenge him about it.

Mabveko said she fled their matrimonial home because of Andirigu’s violent behaviour.
Andirigu denied the allegations, saying he was not doing anything wrong to Mabveko.

“I’m not in the habit of physically abusing her as she is alleging, we only had an altercation once when I took her mobile phone and she is the one who first attacked me,” he said.

Ms Masinire granted the protection order in Mabveko’s favour which barred Andirigu from verbally or physically abusing her.
She ordered the two to live in peace.
