WILLIAM MUGEYI IN SHOCK MOVE

WILLIAM Mugeyi has been unveiled as the new assistant coach of Chegutu Pirates in a shock move.

He joins head coach Wellington Shangiwa on the technical bench.

Mugeyi, widely regarded as one of Zimbabwe’s finest leftbacks of his generation, brings a wealth of football knowledge and experience to the Pirates’ dugout During his playing career, Mugeyi established himself as a respected figure both locally and in South Africa.

After hanging up his boots, Mugeyi remained deeply involved in football.

He made the transition into coaching as he sought to share his experience and help develop the next generation of players.

Chegutu Pirates believe the player’s vast experience will be an important addition to the technical team as they continue building a competitive outfit.

In a statement, the club said Mugeyi’s appointment was part of their commitment to strengthening the team’s structures and bringing in experienced football minds.

“We are delighted to welcome William Mugeyi to our technical team as assistant coach. His experience, knowledge of the game and understanding of player development will be valuable as we continue working towards achieving our objectives,” said the club.

“Mugeyi has achieved a lot in football and we believe his presence will complement the work being done by head coach Shangiwa.

“We are confident that his contribution will help the team continue growing and improving.”

The club added that the decision to bring in a coach of Mugeyi’s calibre was aimed at creating a strong technical foundation while inspiring players to reach their full potential.

For Mugeyi, the new role presents another opportunity to make his mark in the game.

The Pirates will be hoping that the former Warriors star’s arrival will provide the inspiration and expertise needed as they continue their push for success.
