MARK Williams made his first cut in the 2014 Sunshine Tour golf season when he finished on four-under-par at the Cape Town Open in South Africa over the weekend.
The Bulawayo-born professional was on level par after the first two rounds as he had carded a 69 and 75 to make the cut.
Williams returned with an impressive 69 on Saturday to go into Sunday’s final round on three-under-par.
On Sunday Williams, who was the only Zimbabwean left in the field, settled for a one-under-par 71.
Williams took R10 650 rich after he finished tied with Desvonde Botes, Brendon Stone, Ulrich van den Berg, Adrian Ford, Haydn Porteous (all South Africans) and Botswana’s Stuart Smith.
Three Zimbabweans entered the Cape Town Open.
Most of the local professionals were taking part in the Econet Corporate Golf Day at Royal Harare.
