Wilshere devastated

LONDON. — Jack Wilshere admits Arsenal players are “devastated” after Mesut Ozil became the latest player to be struck down with a knee injury. The Germany star added to the Gunners’ troubles by being ruled out until the New Year. But Wilshere, fresh from an impressive performance for England in Estonia, says there is no injury curse at the Emirates.

Laurent Koscielny was sent home from the France squad last week with his ongoing Achilles injury and is battling to be fit for Saturday’s home clash with Hull City. Danny Welbeck also limped out of England’s win in Estonia after twisting his ankle but is expected to be fit for the weekend.

That comes on top of Mathieu Debuchy and Olivier Giroud who are both out until the New Year. Mikel Arteta, Theo Walcott, Yaya Sanogo, Serge Gnabry, Aaron Ramsey, Abou Diaby and Nacho Monreal are all expecting to be back in training this week after various injuries. — The Mirror.
