University and college students have been accorded a chance to unwind from the serious time they spent engrossed in their studies when they attend the ‘Campus Shutdown – Sting Vibes’ gig to be held at Belgravia Shopping Centre in Harare tonight.
The ‘Ninja President’ Winky D and suave urban contemporary music singers Roki and Ex Q, who command a huge following among youths, will serenade students and other music lovers in general during the event.
The event, which promises fireworks, specifically targets university and college students and who will be required to produce their student’s card in order to pay the $2 entrance fee while the rest of fun lovers will have to pay $3 at the gate.
The event will be held courtesy of Afdis.
In an interview, Afdis marketing Sandile Moyo said the whole idea is to give the youth especially the students a time to refresh their minds after a long year of studying.
“This is our second Sting Shutdown and as you can see we are getting down to the end of the year and it’s our chance to give the youths a good moment, everyone must come and have a nice time. This time the event is bigger and better with legendary dancehall musicians like Winky D and our big names in the urban grooves Roki and Ex Q participating,” she said
With university and college students known to be fun-lovers, this gig is likely to leave lasting impressions and there is bound to be excitement when the “Ninja President” unleashes his ghetto hits like “Musarova Big Man”, “Pleasure Rachinja” and “Messi weReggae” among others.
With Winky D known to be indefatigable on stage, revelers are set enjoy every moment of the act.
Roki, on the other hand, has his own way of doing things, and with his songs like “Chidzoka” and “Suzzana” among others. The former Big Brother house representative will without doubt leave the lady students screaming when he belts out the love gems. Ex Q is also a good love crooner and has a smooth rapping style that has endeared him to a legion of youthful music lovers. The show – that will start at 6pm till late – is being sponsored by Afdis through their Sting brand.
“There will be free Sting drinks to be given to the first 100 people to enter into the show,” Moyo said.
