WINKY D has been confirmed as one of the headline acts for this year’s Castle Lager National Braai Festival.
His fans have been on the edge since the initial line-up, which was released earlier this week, did not include the popular musician.
The initial line-up featured ExQ, Enzo Ishall, Tamy Moyo, Ngunge Yut, Nutty O, Atenda Chinx and several DJs.
Castle Lager later teased fans that Jnr Spragga was also part of the line-up by teasing with a popular phrase “MANGOMA AYA ANE MA RULES GUYS.”
Then, the organisers gave the biggest hint that Winky D would be part of the line-up with another teaser.
“Hi besties, your BELOVED Admin is back. Nezuro ndakazongokutizai but ndatumwa na (GOAT), hanzi MUSAROVA ADMIN.”
The GOAT emoji immediately caught the attention of Winky D’s fans.
The mystery was later cleared when Castle Lager confirmed that Winky D would be part of this year’s line-up.
The musician has a strong history with the Castle Lager Braai Festival.
He headlined the 2024 edition at Old Hararians, where he introduced his “Lyrical Tiki Taka” segment and performed a freestyle about Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” beat.
He also returned for last year’s edition and delivered a fine performance.
This year’s edition will feature more than 10 local artists and DJs.
The festival has grown into one of Zimbabwe’s major entertainment events, combining live music, braai, beer and entertainment.
Revellers can look forward to a full day of music, food and entertainment, with the programme running from morning until late.
