WITCHCRAFT, WHATSAPP WARS AND BROKEN WINDOWS – INSIDE DOCTOR MADZIKANDA’S LOVERS MESSY DRAMA . . . One of the girlfriends was a tenant at the UZ senior lecturer’s house

Prosper Dembedza-Herald Correspondent

PROMINENT business executive, Dr David Madzikanda, has said the two women involved in a messy love triangle saga, which has spilled into court, are both his GIRLFRIENDS and their fallout is rooted in jealousy.

The two women – Tsitsi Mutseriwa and Millicent Murape – have dragged each other to court over a cyberbullying case related to their romantic affairs with Dr Madzikanda.

Millicent used to be a tenant, at a house where Tsitsi stays, before she started dating Dr Madzikanda.

He told the court that he is the owner of the Harare house, where Tsitsi stays, where an altercation between the two women erupted last year.

That altercation is at the heart of the court proceedings.

Dr Madzikanda is also a senior lecturer at the UZ Graduate School of Management specialising in Strategic Management and Corporate Governance.

He also serves as an Associate Professor at the Kuwait Maastricht Business Schools.

Dr Madzikanda has also served as the chairman of the Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority.

Yesterday, he arrived at the Harare Magistrates Court, in the latest chapter of a messy love triangle, which has been grabbing tabloid headlines in the past two weeks.

Dr Madzikanda appeared to realise that his mere presence at the court, in connection with this case, was very controversial.

And, on a number of occasions, he tried to shield his face from photographers.

Once in court, he was summoned to testify, as a State witness, in a case which is now before Harare magistrate Lisa Mutendereki.

The case involves two women – Tsitsi Mutseriwa and Millicent Murape – who are accusing each other of cyberbullying and even trading witchcraft accusations.

Millicent is also facing allegations of malicious damage to a property owned by Tsitsi.

Dr Madzikanda told the court that the two women were both his girlfriends.

He said he started dating Tsitsi way back but never got married to her.

He said during the first week of July last year, he was at Tsitsi’s house, where he had gone for lunch, when Millicent came to the same house, a development which triggered an altercation between his two women.

He said he was the owner of the house, where Tsitsi lives, and blamed her for accusing Millicent of destroying property which does not belong to her.

“I am the owner of that property, therefore the only person who has the right to report any damage to property is me, not Mutseriwa,” he told the court.

Dr Madzikanda said he tried to engage Tsitsi to withdraw the case but, instead, she held him at ransom and allegedly demanded that he should build her a house, and buy her a car, for her to withdraw the case.

“I never married Mutseriwa and will never marry her, I have only one wife at home, who works for a bank,” he said.

Dr Madzikanda added that Millicent was just his girlfriend and the child they have together came as a result of an arrangement between them.

He told the court that the altercation between his two girlfriends began when Millicent got pregnant and this did not go down well with Tsisi, who became jealous.

According to the State papers on July 5, last year, at around 9 pm, Tsitsi allegedly received abusive WhatsApp messages from Millicent’s phone number.

The following day, according to the court documents, Millicent allegedly sent more abusive text messages via WhatsApp.

On both occasions, Millicent did not reply.

Millicent is also accused of allegedly using stones to break window panes at Tsitsi’s house.

Millicent was a tenant at Tsitsi’s house before she started dating Dr Madzikanda.

Tsitsi has already claimed Millicent, in her abusive messages, allegedly claimed she was now transforming from a tenant and taking over as Dr Madzikanda’s wife.

She claims Millicent allegedly boasted in her messages that she would soon become the boss and landlady at the property.

Tsitsi also told the court that Millicent also accused her of bewitching her, when she was pregnant, by allegedly placing some juju on her doorstep so that she would suffer a miscarriage.

“This woman (Millicent) is our lodger and now my husband’s girlfriend,” Tsitsi told the court.

“She insulted me on WhatsApp and also broke my property’ windows.

“She accused me of bewitching her by saying that l placed a charm on her doorsteps so that she would miscarry her pregnancy (and lose) Dr Madzikanda’s child.”

She told the court that when she went to Millicent’s apartment, to ask her about the messages she had sent her on WhatsApp, she found Dr Madzikanda inside the apartment.

She claims she was made to wait outside for about an hour.

She told the court that Dr Madzikanda has four other wives.

She said she reported Millicent to the police not because she was jealous of her romantic affairs with her husband but because she wanted to protect herself.
