Witches to unmask Yorkshire Ripper’s identity soon

The Herald, December 29, 1980

WHITE witch Elizabeth St George believes she and other British occultist have at last got a “fix” on the Yorkshire Ripper and that his identity could be known soon.

But everything depends on the alertness of the people he comes in contact with from now on.

Blonde and dynamic Miss St George claims to have been trafficking the Ripper by psychic means at the unofficial request of the police.

“It has been the most difficult job I’ve had,” she said from the London headquarters of her business, Spooks Enterprises.

“Ask any other white witch to track down somebody like this and she’ll want a handkerchief or a lock of hair or a sample of handwriting – something very personal belonging to the person concerned.

“But all I had was a photocopy of his writing and the recording of his voice to go on. It took a lot of time to get a fix on the man.”

Nevertheless, Miss St George now feels she has a fairly good idea of what the Ripper does and where he is.

“I have a strong feeling that he’s an actor of sorts, a man who never made the grade. It also doesn’t follow that he comes from the north of England as the police have so far believed.”

Having focused on her man, Elizabeth St George called on fellow occultists to bring their powers to bear on his immediate future.

“I have reason to believe that I’ve afflicted him with some kind of eye trouble, and when he goes to the hospital or the occultist, it’s up to whoever treats him take a good look at his hand writing. I’m confident that it’s his handwriting that will give him away.”

LESSONS FOR TODAY

  • The Yorkshire Ripper (the late Peter Sutcliffe) was one of England’s notorious serial killers whose victims were women.
  • His moniker (Yorkshire Ripper) was given by the British press in reference to 19th century serial killer, Jack the Ripper whose reign of terror and sexual sadism shocked London and its environs.
  • While Zimbabweans who practice witchcraft are somehow protected by law through an Act of Parliament – the Witchcraft Suppression Act (Chapter 9-19) – in other parts of the world, people with occult powers are sometimes requested by police to help them solve difficult cases. They practice their witchcraft openly, unlike here.
  • Every society has its own psychopaths and sociopaths whose practices instil fear in citizens, e.g. murder, rape and removal of body parts for ritual purposes.
