Wits excite Mwaruwari

FORMER Manchester City striker Benjani Mwaruwari is happy with his South African Absa Premier League team Bidvest Wits’ performance. He described his team’s recent rich vein of form as the best compared to past seasons and believes the arrival of former Premier League winning coach, Gavin Hunt was the tonic needed for the team.

Mwaruwari, who is highly rated, is happy to be united with Hunt who once coached him at SuperSport United during his trials.
He said:

“The only secret that makes the team tick is hard work, determination and team work. We have a great coach who understands us and is one of the great tacticians I have ever worked under.”

Added the former Warriors skipper:
“At first things were awkward but we kept on believing in ourselves and listening attentively to the coach’s instructions and at last it paid dividends as now we are in top four on the log.

“I have been in the game for sometime now. I know I haven’t scored my debut goal at Wits but that cannot destroy my focus, as long as I’m creating chances for other players, it’s good and it shows maturity in football.”

The former Warriors ace said he is enjoying himself and hopes his team can finish in a respectable position before the Christmas break.
Mwaruwari was signed from relegated Chippa United at the beginning of the season.
