talking about shades. That’s right.
In November 2010, this Pittsburgh Pennsylvania rapper released his very first line of shades named The Elevators.
Khalifa’s 500 pairs of first edition specs almost entirely sold out the moment they were released.
Eyetique, the producer of Wiz Khalifa’s trademark shades, already has a second line of Khalifa sunglasses in the works.
According to Eyetique’s vice president Brad Childs, 30 percent of all sales of Wiz Khalifa sunglasses are from foreign countries.
These first edition fashion sunglasses go for US$225 a piece and come in either turquoise or black. Wiz Khalifa first revealed these shades in his “Black and Yellow” music video, although a few prototypes had been fashioned before the debut of the final product.
This latest business idea by Wiz Khalifa is akin to similar business ideas by Diddy and Jay-Z who both have their own product lines.
Amidst Wiz Khalifa’s current success in the shades venue, the rap artist is getting ready to deliver the debut of his brand new album, “Rolling Papers”.
The album is set to headline popular hip-hop artists like Snoop Dogg, Rick Ross and Curren$y and is set to hit retail outlets on 29 March 2011. – thoughts.com.
