Woman caught with 6kg heroin at airport

“The woman who is a Kenyan citizen was arrested as she was trying to board a flight to Lome, Togo. She will appear in court today to answer charges of drug trafficking,” Ngisa told Xinhua by telephone.

He said the suspect’s luggage was found with the drugs which had been wrapped in her travelling bag. “The heroin is valued at US$180 000,” Ngisa said.
The East African nation has stepped war against drug trafficking and arrested several suspects.

Kenya is identified as a transport hub for drugs going to Europe from Asia and the Middle East.
Hardly a week passes without an arrest of drug traffickers at the main airport. Traffickers have increasingly become smarter because of improved surveillance at airports and have now resorted to using roads to reach their intended destinations. — Xinhua.
