Woman dies in crash

A police officer’s wife died on the spot when the commuter omnibus she was travelling in was involved in an accident as the driver evaded traffic cops along Simon Mazorodze Road in Harare last week.Detective Inspector Munhamo Paradza’s wife, Senzia Paradza, died as the kombi driver was evading a police motorbike.

The kombi burst a tyre and veered off the road. At least 20 people were injured in the accident. Paradza has since been buried.

Meanwhile, two people died and six others were injured when the car they were in veered off the road and overturned along the Harare-Bulawayo Highway.

Midlands police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko said the accident occurred last week at the 285km peg along the road.
The victims, who are related, have been identified as Shingirai Chidhindi (48) of Zvishavane and Frank Nyoni (37) of Dzivarasekwa, Harare.
