Ruth Ngwenya from Matshobana suburb in Bulawayo was humiliated in public by Siphiwe Mahlangu the wife of her alleged boyfriend.
Ngwenya, an insurance broker operating in front of the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra) offices between 8th Avenue and Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo Street, wished the earth could swallow herA� to avoid an angry wife who drew a spectacle that ridiculed her.
Shea��s scared Mahlangu might come back with more drama as such she has since approached the Bulawayo Civil Court to apply for a peace order.
a�?She is accusing me of going out with her husband. The other day she came to my workplace and caused a scene when she shouted at me in front of my workmates and passersby who ended up recording proceedings of the incident with their smartphones. I reported the matter to the police and she was arrested,a�? said Ngwenya, adding that she knew Mahlangu first as a fellow Dynamos supporter.
In response Mahlangu argued that she only told Ngwenya to stay away from her husband.
a�?She is having an affair with my husband and I saw some messages in my husbanda��s phone which showed that they were even sleeping together,a�? said Mahlangu.
She further said she was not the first woman to confront Ngwenya and reprimand her over her a�?habit of dating married mena�?.
a�?She was once confronted by another woman over the same accusations of dating married men. She is after destroying other womena��s marriages,a�? complained Mahlangu.
In her ruling the presiding magistrate Adelaide Mbeure however, ordered Mahlangu to keep peace with Ngwenya by not insulting or threatening her in any way.
