A 28-YEAR-OLD Bulawayo woman has appeared in court for pouring boiling water on her husband during a domestic dispute over alleged infidelity.
Letwin Khabo of Emganwini suburb was convicted on her own plea of guilty to physical abuse by Western Commonage Magistrate Mr Jeconia Prince Ncube.
She was remanded in custody to July 28 for sentencing.
Prosecuting, Ms Cathrine Kuzu told the court that the incident occurred on July 2 at around 11PM.
The court heard that Khabo and her husband, Gift Banda (28), had a misunderstanding after she accused him of being unfaithful.
During the altercation, Khabo took an electric kettle containing boiling water and poured it over Banda.
“The complainant sustained burns to the face, neck, torso and left arm,” Ms Kuzu told the court.
The matter was reported to the police, leading to Khabo’s arrest. Banda was referred to hospital for medical examination and treatment.
