The victim was force marched into a nearby bushy area at the corner of Lorraine Drive and David’s Way.

She was threatened and raped once without protection.

Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed the case urging shop owners to protect their employees who finish their shifts late.

“Police are investigating a rape case involving a woman who was jogging home after closing their shop at around 9pm,” said Insp Chakanza.

“The accused person told the complainant that he was lost and he suddenly ordered complainant to hand over her small Nokia cellphone and she gave him.

“The accused person quickly grabbed complaint’s hand and force marched her to a bushy area nearby.

“Whilst in the bush, the accused person threatened to hurt complainant if she ever made any noise and raped her.

“The accused person went on to search the complainant and took cash $20 which was in her bra,” said Insp Chakanza.
