A woman has appeared on court for stabbing her husband on the head using a broken bottle and using a knife on his hand, causing severe injuries, after he stopped her from going to work on Monday.

Yesterday Imagine Masiye (25) of Epworth appeared before Harare regional magistrate Mr Taurai Manuwere charged with attempted murder and was remanded in custody to tomorrow for her bail application.

Prosecuting, Mr Pardon Dziva alleged that on Monday Masiye had a misunderstanding with husband Dominic Chayara (41) over the issue of going to work.

Chayara had banned his wife from going to work and she became angry and stabbed him on the head using an empty beer bottle and one with a knife on his left hand. He sustained deep injuries.

The matter was reported to the police leading to her arrest.
