A decomposing body of an unidentified woman has been discovered in Emakhandeni suburb in a bushy area near an SDA church with police appealing to members of the public that may be missing a relative to approach them.
The woman whose age could not be ascertained but presumed to be between 40 and 50 years was found in an advanced state of decomposition by a passerby who informed the police. The body had maggots all over and was emitting an unpleasant smell.
Police spokesperson for Bulawayo Province Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the report. He said police searched the body but no particulars were found to help identify who the deceased woman was and her age. There was no suicide note and no foul play was suspected.
“We received a report where our officers in Luveve attended a scene where a body was found in Emakhandeni suburb. The body was at an advanced state of decomposition and it was taken to United Hospitals of Bulawayo (UBH). We are appealing to the members of the public with a missing relative to contact any nearest police station for possible identification of the body since the person had no identification particulars at the time of her demise,” said Inspector Ncube.
Insp Ncube said the body was discovered by a male adult aged 55 of Emakhandeni who was walking along a footpath that passes through a bushy area behind the SDA church at around 7 am.
