A 26-YEAR-OLD Bulawayo man has been arraigned for attacking his sister and biting her on the eye after she refused to open the door for him at night.
Chrispen Ncube of Gwabalanda suburb appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Mr Stephen Ndhlovu charged with domestic violence. He pleaded guilty and was remanded out of custody to Friday for sentence.
Prosecuting, Ms Sibekithemba Dube said on Sunday at around midnight, Ncube assaulted his 29-year-old sister, Christine Ncube.
“On November 5, 2016 at around 11:30 PM, the accused person got to his home and knocked on the door. The complainant advised him to go to the back door so that their cousin opens for him,” she said.
Ms Dube said Ncube entered armed with a brick. He allegedly used it to break the spare bedroom window where his sister was sleeping.
Ms Dube said Ncube entered his sister’s bedroom through the window and attacked her.
“He punched her on the face and bit her once on the right eye. Christine fled into their father’s bedroom. Their father held Chrispen, allowing Christine to escape and hide outside the house,” she said.
Christine sustained a swollen face and injured eye as a result of the attack. She did not seek medical attention. —@andile_tshuma
