TWO Bulawayo women assaulted and stabbed a man with a knife after allegedly refused to buy them beer.
Wendy Goremucheche and Ayanda Gumede both aged 20, went to the Old Pumula Beer Garden and allegedly demanded beer from Brighton Mapfumo.
The two then stabbed him with a knife when he refused to buy them beer.
Goremucheche and Gumede appeared before Provincial magistrate Willard Maphios Moyo on Tuesday facing an attempted murder charge.
They were not asked to plead and remanded out of custody to January 8.
Prosecuting Mufaro Mageza told the court that in November last year, Goremucheche and Gumede were at Old Pumula Beer Garden where the complainant was drinking beer.
The court heard that Mapfumo was drinking beer with his younger brother Kudakwashe Mapfumo when he was approached by the two. They ordered him to buy beer for them.
Mageza said Mapfumo refused arguing that he did not have money.
He said an altercation between him and the two ensued.
Goremucheche suddenly pushed Mapfumo and stabbed him once on the head. She was joined by Gumede who stabbed the complainant twice on the chest using the same knife resulting in him losing consciousness.
Mapfumo allegedly sustained some deep cuts following the knife attack.
The matter was reported to the police leading to the arrest of the two women.
