WOMEN in football have described Tafadzwa Bhasera as a champion who stood up for equality in the game.

She passed away on Sunday at the age of 36.

FC Platinum’s Chido Chizondo described Bhasera as a unique, discerning football administrator who was full of kindness and love.

“Tafadzwa was a uniquely discerning football administrator, she believed that everything happened for a reason.

“She imparted a special kind of love to me, emphasising the importance of nurturing relationships every day, even through simple gestures like saying hello without expecting anything in return.

“Tafadzwa’s leadership was founded on love, as she fearlessly stood up against injustice. She wasn’t just a colleague or another woman in football; she was my sister.

“Her wisdom and kindness left an indelible mark on everyone who had the fortune of knowing her. Tafadzwa’s approach to life was both inspiring and humbling.

“She taught us that true leadership isn’t about power or authority, but about compassion, empathy, and the courage to do what’s right, even when it’s difficult,” said Chizondo.

Former Ngezi Platinum CEO, Nyasha Kadenge described Bhasera as a person, who inspired hope in the most challenging situations.

“As I reflect on the numerous moments we shared, I remember her infectious laughter that could brighten even the darkest of days, and her ability to find hope in the most challenging situations.

“Tafadzwa had a unique way of making everyone feel heard. And above all, she loved hard. I have lost a sister a friend and an aunt to my children. I will miss her. Rest well, my love,” she said.

Fitness trainer Brenda Chaora described her as a great personality.

“Tafadzwa was a great personality and loved football more.

“She was very passionate about Zimbabwe football and growth was a very strong character, she would make sure everybody else was ok before herself.

“She was someone who was very spiritual and would encourage others to be prayerful.” Meanwhile, the Premier Soccer League joined the rest of the football fraternity in mourning the late Bhasera.

“We are deeply saddened to learn of the untimely passing of former Harare City CEO and Mighty Warriors manager Tafadzwa Bhasera.

“Our heartfelt condolences go out to the Bhasera family, friends, and football fraternity during this difficult time. May her soul rest in peace.”
