Seven brilliant minds in theatre, led by veteran actors Daniel Maposa and Jasen Mphepo, will combine forces for the staging of the play “Women’s Night” in Harare, promising four nights filled with laughter.
It will run from Wednesday till September 20 at Jasen Mphepo Little Theatre in Eastlea, Harare.
The collaboration between Savanna Trust and Kuckuck Productions was directed by Swiss producer Roger Nydegger, who will also showcase five other talented theatre professionals – Stewart Sakarombe, Ellaine Ncube, Henry Mutekede, Tafadzwa Mutumbi and Francis Nyakuhwa.
Nydegger’s enduring passion for theatre has touched the hearts of many over the years.
In a statement, Maposa highlighted that the play is a must-watch since it showcases the power of collaboration, which many in the creative sector have been yearning for over the years.
“The production marks an important step in strengthening cultural exchange while showcasing local talent on the professional stage,” he stressed.
“The play, ‘Women’s Night’, is a comedy that promises to deliver laughter while sparking thought-provoking conversations.
“The significance of this production is to amplify cross-cultural collaboration and expand the reach of Zimbabwean theatre.
“Working with international partners and directors allows Savanna Trust to push creative boundaries while strengthening the professional capacity of local theatre artists.”
