LOG leaders Harare City Queens FC maintained top spot in the Women’s Soccer Super League after walloping winless side Conduit Soccer Academy 7-0 away at Mudindo Stadium in Guruve on Saturday.

Braces from Rudo Neshamba, Hazvineyi Dlakama, Privilege Magagani and a solitary contribution by Rachel Mtseneki were enough for Harare City to wrap up the match. Herentals Queens won 1-0 against Black Mambas Queens FC.

With a game in hand, the victory ensures that they stay within sight of the leaders with a two points difference.

Third placed Black Rhinos Queens suffered their first defeat of the season after losing 1-0 to Chapungu Queens. The defeat meant that they missed on the opportunity to leapfrog Harare City Queens at the top of the table.

It is a tight start to the season as teams between first and fifth are separated by five points with the games in hand having been taken into consideration.

Debutants FC Platinum Royals are sixth with 13 points after their first seven games. They have won four, drawn one and lost two. It has been a tough start to the season for Conduit Soccer Academy, Sunshine Queens FC, Borrow Jets and Queen Lozikeyi, who occupy relegation places.

Conduit Soccer Academy are winless in their first 8 games, only managing to pick up one point.
The other three sides in the relegation dogfight are also on one point.

Sunshine Queens, who have conceded 52 goals so far, which is the most, picked up their first win of the season after beating Bulawayo based side Borrow Jets 1-0.

Another Bulawayo team, Queen Lozikeyi suffered a 4-0 defeat at home, against Chipembere Queens of Gweru.

Weekend Results:
Conduit Soccer Academy 0-7 Harare City Queens, Sunshine Queens 1-0 Borrow Jets,
Herentals Queens 1-0 Black Mambas Queens FC, Chapungu Queens 1-0 Black Rhinos Queens
