THE Zanu PF Youth league yesterday held a business formalisation and company registration  workshop to capacitate youths with the knowledge of running formal businesses in line with President Mnangagwa’s vision to leave no one, and no place behind towards attaining Vision 2030 to become an upper middle class economy.

The workshop was attended by officials from Empower Bank, Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra) and the Zimbabwe Youth Council.

A number of youths drawn from Harare also attended the workshop which was held in the capital.

The workshop was organised by Zanu PF District Co-ordinating Committee for Zone 4 Youth chairman Cde Takura Madziya.

Cde Madziya said the workshop was in line with President Mnangagwa’s mantra to leave no one behind in building the country’s economy.

“We want to ensure our youths are capacitated through engaging in various businesses. Zimbabwe can only be built by patriotic youths,” said Cde Madziya.

Those who attended the workshop appreciated the efforts by the Second Republic to ensure everyone is involved in developing the country’s economy, saying it is only Zimbabweans who will take the country forward.

Ms Sharman Marwa said youths should embrace the efforts being made by President Mnangagwa to capacitate them through such workshops.

“The workshop is for free, so I am happy to get the knowledge on how to prepare and manage a business. We have stakeholders who are assisting us with the relevant skills to start our businesses, ” said Ms Marwa.

One of the youths who attended the business workshop Mr Wisdom Muzondiwa urged young people to start their own businesses.

“We have a number of graduates in Zimbabwe with relevant skills who are just looking for jobs. Its high time they apply for cheap loans from Empower Bank so that they can start their own businesses. Its high time youth take a lead in building the economy,’’ said Mr Muzondiwa.

Zimbabwe Ex-Political Prisoners, Detainees and Restrictees Children Trust (ZEPPDRCT) national chairperson Cde Lovemore Chikukwa said youths should embrace efforts being made by President Mnangagwa to capacitate the young generation.

“This is the effort of our President who is the First Secretary of the party. He wants to ensure youths are participating in the revival of the economy. We really appreciate his efforts,” said Cde Chikukwa.

Empower Bank representative Mr Stephen Manjoro urged youths to seek assistance from the bank when applying for loans.

“After assessing the projects which one wants to venture into, the applicant can access the loans within 7 days,” said Mr Manjoro.

ZIMRA representative Mr Jeremiah Makumba encouraged youths to be patriotic citizens by formalising their businesses.

“We encourage you to pay tax to the Government,” said Mr Makumba.

Zimbabwe Cadres national secretary for transport and welfare Mr Edmore Gengwe urged  youths to desist from drug abuse.

“We are saying no to drug abuse. We can’t have a country being led by drug addicts. We are appealing to the youths to venture into viable businesses to make a living,” said Mr Gengwe.

Zanu PF DCC Zone 4 Secretary for Lands, Cde Mahommed Williams, who also attended the workshop, said youths should emulate the good works of President Mnangagwa.

“Our youths need to be empowered through skills training before they venture into business. The workshop is a move in the right direction. Let’s build our economy,” said Cde Williams.
