THE Zimbabwe athletics team’s plans for a longer training camp ahead of the World Junior Championships scheduled for Eugene, United States, this month have been dealt a huge blow. Team manager Enias Nhoro said it was disappointing that with just 14 days remaining before the championships, the team is yet to group for camp because of lack of resources.
“The team is not yet in camp as we are struggling to make ends meet.
“We have assigned athletes to specific coaches to work with them while they also manage their academic affairs,” said Nhoro.
Zimbabwe will this year field five athletes – Michael Songore, who will compete in the 200m and 4x100m events, Pride Lusinga, who will take part in the 400m hurdles and 4x100m, and Enlita Ncube will participate in the 1500m race.
