Content creation has evolved from a side hustle to a rewarding career path for many. Nowadays, content creators are not just earning millions through their creativity; the revenue generated also empowers them to invest in their entrepreneurial passions. It’s no longer solely about entertainment, as it has evolved into a serious business with a lot of money at stake.

Here’s a look at some of the highest earners in the creator economy. 

Mr Beast

Mr Beast is arguably the most popular content creator worldwide. He has over 500 million followers across various social media platforms and an impressive 380 million subscribers on YouTube. From surviving in the open sea on a rudimentary raft to recreating “Squid Games” challenges, every video he makes gets around 100 million views.

His estimated revenue from creating content, along with his clothing line and Feastables, a brand focused on snacks and chocolates, exceeds US$600 million annually.

The Paul brothers

Jake and Logan Paul have been known for their pranks, challenges, vlogs on YouTube, as well as several controversies. All of this has only led to their meteoric rise in the content creator industry. Together, they have more than 100 million followers across social media platforms.

Khaby Lame

The Paul brothers have built a massive empire worth more than $250 million. This includes a multimillion-dollar deal with WWE, as well as collaborations with clothing and sports drink brands, and highly profitable partnerships with other brands and content creators.

Ryan Kaji

Ryan Kaji has built an entertainment empire with his kid-friendly YouTube channel “Ryan’s World,” releasing unboxing videos, educational content, and family vlogs. His adorable style and relatable content have amassed him a loyal fan base of 39 million subscribers.

Ryan has also ventured into entrepreneurship, signing deals with Walmart, Target, and Nickelodeon, along with launching his own TV series. The 13-year-old has an estimated worth of $100 million.

Matt Rife

Standup comedian Matt Rife has come a long way. His quick, scathing wit has amassed a following of more than 33 million across social media platforms.

The social media star has also starred in the Netflix specials Matt Rife: Natural Selection”and Matt Rife:  Lucid — A Crowdwork Special, and released the memoir “Your Mom’s Gonna Love Me.” His annual earnings are amongst the highest in the content creation world, a whopping US$50 million. 

PewDiePie

Probably one of the most followed content creators on social media, PewDiePie found his fortune in the early 2010s by live-streaming games and creating comic sketches, pranks, and reaction videos.

PewDiePie has several brand deals, merchandise, partnerships with numerous brands, and book deals that add to his net worth of more than $50 million.

Dhar Mann

Dhar Mann is a content creator who creates videos on topics such as bullying, racism, and inequality. He has a massive following of about 120 million across social media channels and close to 25 million subscribers on his main YouTube channel.

Besides making videos, Dhar Mann also heads a creator agency named 5th Quarter Agency and a beauty brand, LiveGlam. His estimated annual revenue is about US$45 million.

Charli D’Amelio

Charli D’Amelio became popular on TikTok with her dance moves. She has more than 200 million followers across social media platforms, with 157 million followers on TikTok alone.

She has partnered with brands like Garnier and CeraVe and was also featured in ‘& Juliet,’ a Broadway musical. Her net worth is estimated to be a massive US$45 million.

Mark ‘Markiplier’ Fischbach

The social media icon started as a YouTuber with videos of unboxing videos, product reviews, and comedy sketches, and he soon created a fan following of millions.

Now, the multi-talented content creator has ventured into directing, writing, and film-making. He is also a philanthropist, having raised millions via livestreaming. His estimated net worth is more than US$45 million.

Khaby Lame

Khaby Lame’s reaction videos and viral memes have garnered an astronomical following on social media. Not surprisingly, he is the most followed content creator on TikTok, with more than 162 million followers.
