It seems gospel musician Everton Mlalazi is ever busy. If not launching an album, single, or having a show, he is touring.

Now, with the festive season approaching, the gospel giant is much busier than ever.

In a bid to continue promoting his music, multi-award-winning gospel singer Mlalazi will this Saturday ignite and engage with his fans in Mutare.

“It’s a free show to the fans but there are limited seats. You can check on our platforms on how to register to be part of this show,” he said. Mlalazi said the tours are christened “Worship Moments with Mlalazi” because they are not just shows, but a session of praise and worship.

Yes, of course, 2023 was and still is his year as he has been awarded the Best Africa Male Gospel Artiste of the Year in Nigeria beating other top African giants.

Think of gospel giants in Africa, you can name them and ask them about Mlalazi they will testify to the good music composition and well-organised band by the Seventh Day Adventist church member.

He has hosted two Bulawayo home-coming shows, and various Harare album launches, either on his own or with his group, The Vine.

Masvingo also had its fair share of the cake in October as he successfully hosted a show there.

For regional countries such as South Africa and Nigeria, his name is now known, and more on regional radio stations.

They are playing his music just like how he is dominating local charts.

Mutare boasts of confidence in hosting Mlalazi at a show dubbed, “Worship Moments with Everton Mlalazi,” as part of “In His Presence Volume 2- Tour” whereas the musician revealed in an interview that it is part of his 2023 ministry mission.

The event will be at Courtauld Theatre, with the advanced team already there for staging and lighting.

“We are more than ready to be in Mutare. This came after a call by fans on our social media pages as they felt left out,” he said.

“It has been a busy year for me as you can see each month has its share of plans. The Mutare show is a build-up to the “Spirit of Praise” 9 Zimbabwe Tour, which will see South African giants performing alongside me next week at the Hippodrome in Harare.”

“I will be performing my songs and at the same time meeting and engaging with fans. We have also invited men of the cloth and various personalities who will grace the show,” he said.

Last month, he was nominated at the 16th Crown Gospel Music Awards for Best of Africa Gospel Artiste.

This seems to be the biggest and busiest month for Mlalazi as he will be in Mutare this weekend, five days later will be on stage with Spirit of Praise, then the following two days will vie for his nomination in Sandton.

“Recognition encourages us to grow and put in more work, but this is God’s work, every platform and opportunity I get I use to further the good news of hope and salvation,” said Mlalazi.

“God has opened doors that have led me to work with Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Bishop Benjamin Dube, Xolly Mncwango, Minister Mahendere locally and this has helped shape me as a musician.

“I recently performed at Gospel Goes Classical South Africa at the Carnival City and it was electric. The same weekend I performed at the Sinach in South Africa Concert as well as at Mpumi Mtshweni’s homecoming in Witbank and my music was received very well.”

The “Apo Mambo” hitmaker said music was a global language and it becomes even more powerful if it was preaching the word of God.

“We have continued with our local tours — In The Presence Vol.2. We took it to Harare and Masvingo and we are heading to Mutare this weekend,” he said.

“Spirit of Praise will be in Zimbabwe for the first time. This will lead us to the 24th of November where I am going to be performing together with Spirit of Praise in Harare. Artistes like Benjamin Dube, Ayanda Ntanzi, Dumi Mkokstad, Canaan Nyathi, Takie Ndou, Mmatema, and many others will be in Harare for the first time as a group.”
