X-ray machines boost for Kwekwe hospital

Midlands Bureau
Kwekwe District Hospital has acquired new X-ray machines, bringing relief to local patients who for long had to seek such services from private institutions.

Kwekwe District Hospital has been operating without an X-ray department for years.
Kwekwe District Hospital superintended Dr Patricia Mapanda declined to give details on the new development referring questions to the Midlands provincial medical director, Dr Simon Nyadundu, who was not reachable.

A senior medical officer at Kwekwe District Hospital, however, confirmed the new development saying the X-ray department started operating last week.
The official said the hospital has been operating without an X-ray for the last three years.

“We have been without the X-ray facility for the past three years.
“We only got these machines acquired recently and they have been in use since last week. We have so far conducted several scans and the patients are so happy that we now have the facility here,” said the official.
