Xinhua president urges readjustment of world media

Speaking at the second World Media Summit, Li asked world media organisations to promote world peace and common prosperity.
“The fate of the media is closely connected to that of the world, and the media’s development must keep pace with the development of the times,” Li said.

News organisations should provide “accurate, objective, fair and impartial” information, said Li.
They should also work to strengthen understanding between people of different races, cultures and countries, he said. News organisations should fulfil their social

responsibilities by paying more attention to issues such as children, women, poverty, diseases, education, and environment, said Li. They should adapt themselves to the development of information technology and remodel their businesses, said the Xinhua president. — Xinhua.
