Xtreme choir for Africa award

Gospel choir Xtreme Afrique, fronted by local producer Lyton Ngolomi, has garnered a nomination for the Africa Golden Virtual Awards. The awards ceremony will be held in Canada at the end of the year and will be broadcast live on Africa Ahead TV. The group has been nominated in the Best Artiste/Group African Gospel category.

The prestigious Africa Golden Virtual Awards honour personalities in music, sport, politics, cinema, fashion, literature and media, which made the pride of Africa.

According to African Golden Virtual Awards official website, the Zimbabwean outfit will battle it out with other groups from Cameroon, Gabon and Nigeria for the top gong.

Ngolomi said it was an honour for them to be nominated on such awards. “That is a big achievement for our group and we are hoping to bring the award home,” he said.

He said they were happy that the event will be broadcast live on Africa Ahead TV.

“That is a chance for Africans to see how we perform. It is an honour for us to have such a platform,” said an ecstatic Ngolomi.

The producer of prominent gospel musicians like Blessing Shumba and Mathias Mhere believes the normination was a clear testimony that the group has the capability of making it big globally.

The group is also expected to perform at this event which will attract international attention.

Xtreme Afrique is following the footsteps of groups like ZimPraise who have made it big on the international scene.
