AFTER blowing a glorious chance to drift away from the relegation matrix following their 0-1 defeat at the hands of How Mine last Saturday, Yadah coach Thomas Ruzive remains adamant his team will survive the chop at the end of the season. The Prophet Walter Magaya-owned team are precariously hanging on position 14th on the log with 34 points, just two above Shabanie who occupy the last relegation slot.
“As the coach, I am not happy with where we are. The position is not a true reflection of our capabilities. We play good football but, somehow luck has not been on our side,” he said.
“But, we just need to win at least two of our four remaining matches and that way I know we can survive. We have a very strong squad with some enterprising players who are capable of winning matches. We need to have self-belief and a sense of responsibility going forward as those are some of the key elements which have been lacking in our recent games. We have been losing concentration in key areas and that is also one of the reasons why we have been losing. But we have since addressed those issues and I am very confident the team will survive the chop.” he said.
Yadah can survive simply by beating Bulawayo City in their next game because of the nature of how the other teams in the relegation battle could be cancelling each other in the final three matches. They also face champions CAPS United, Highlanders and fellow strugglers Shabanie. Bantu Rovers were demoted to the Southern Region Division One League after their 1-2 defeat to Tsholotsho who could also fall by the wayside if they fail to win their next match.
