FORMER Premiership football side Yadah are on the verge of returning to the top flight barely one season after relegation.

The ZIFA Eastern Region side log leaders are travelling to Bikita this afternoon to face Bikita Chida Athletic Club, needing a straight win to earn promotion.

The Kudakwashe Masaraure-coached outfit need just three points from their remaining three games to be crowned champions.

But they may wrap up the campaign as soon as this afternoon if they manage maximum points. This could make them the second team to be elevated to the top-flight after Hwange won promotion last week from the Southern Region.

Last week Yadah beat Renco Mine FC 4-1 to move to 75 points, four points clear of second-placed Deportivo La Murambinda FC, who need them to lose all their remaining matches and win theirs to pip them to the title.

Lovemore Dzoro’s Deportivo La Murambinda can only attain a high of 77 points if they win their last two games.

The other fixtures this afternoon will see Renco Mine facing Grand Legacy at Maramba, while second-placed Deportivo La Murambinda host in-form Bikita Minerals Uhera in a fixture that could define their title hopes.

At Mucheke, FC Wangu Mazodze clash with Power FC in another survival showdown, while at Mutare Boys High, Tenax CS entertain Buffaloes FC looking to take advantage of Green Fuel’s inactivity.
