WILL former Premiership football side Yadah Stars save the best for the last in their Eastern Region Division One championship title chase?
That is the question that will be answered this afternoon at The Heart Stadium.
The “Miracle Boys”, who need two points to win the championship, will face Masvingo United needing nothing short of maximum points to gain promotion back to the top flight.
Yadah Stars are on 76 points two ahead of second placed Deportivo La Murambinda who face army side Buffaloes at Showground.
A Yadah Stars win will take their points tally to an assailable 79 while the Deportivo can only finish on 77 points if they win their last game of the season which is on today.
Kudakwashe Masaraure the Yadah coach said, last week’s draw against Bikita Chida Athletic Club was a blessing in disguise as they now have an opportunity to be crowned champions in front of their home supporters.
“I was disappointed by last week’s 0-0 draw as we wanted to kill the game but, I think it also happened for a reason as we now have an opportunity to win the championship before our supporters.
“We have worked hard during the past two days and everyone is looking forward to the game.
‘‘We have been having challenges in scoring but, I think we have worked on our shooting and we are ready for the challenge.
“The game is going to be tough as we need maximum points,” said Masaraure.
If they win today the Miracle Boys will travel all the way to Chisumbanje with nothing much to play for when they face another former Premier League side Green Fuel on Saturday.
Deportivo La Murambinda will be on a bye on the last day of the season and to delay Yadah’s coronation they have to win their game against Buffaloes while the later should lose or draw against “Yuna Yuna”.
