WINGER Peter Davis delivered the proverbial sucker punch as his try spurred the Old Mutual Zimbabwe Under-18 rugby side to a thrilling 16-9 victory over Griquas Rural in the opening match of the 53rd Craven Week at Kearsney College yesterday.

With odds staked against them, the Zimbabweans showed character to break a seven-match losing spell at the tournament.

They had last tasted victory at the 2013 edition in Polokwane.
