But coach Jairos Tapera yesterday insisted it was still game on despite carrying a healthy lead from the first leg. Tapera who has been attending a Caf Licence B coaching course in Harare for the past week, joined the team in their camp in Bulawayo yesterday.
“We are expecting to leave tomorrow (today) by road,” he said.
“This is going to be a new game altogether. I have been talking to the players about this and if we could score four here, any team can also do it in the return leg.
“The preparations are going well and we are also keeping in mind that it’s always challenging playing away but I believe we are ready for it.”
The Young Warriors, though wasteful, made light work of the Young Zebras in the first leg and made full use of home advantage to ensure that their task will be easier in the return leg in Gaborone.
The Zimbabweans got their victory thanks to double scorer Munyaradzi Chiwara, Edmore Tsoro and Knox Mutizwa, although they could have won by a bigger margin had the strikeforce been sharper in front of goal.
The return leg will be played on Friday evening at the University of Botswana.
