Young women march for President’s victory

Herald Reporter

Hundreds of young women under the banner of the Concord Young Women in Business Global ICT yesterday marched in Harare to celebrate President Mnangagwa and Zanu PF’s victory in the recently held harmonised elections.

The march started at Robert Mugabe Square and ended at the Glamis Arena in the Exhibition Park where the President was officially opening the 2023 Agricultural Show.

In an interview, Concord Young Women in Business Global ICT president Ms Apphia Nyasha Musavengana said the purpose of the march was to celebrate the President’s victory as he was speaking in public for the first time in Harare since his re-election.

“President Mnangagwa has worked very hard for this election victory as there is no place he did not go campaigning and looking for votes,” she said. “This was a well deserved victory because he showed us in the last five years that he is a capable leader who delivers, a leader of the people who wishes peace and unity in Zimbabwe.”

Ms Musavengana said President Mnangagwa spearheaded massive development in the country and it was clear that more development was coming in the next five years.

“As the young, we really appreciate what the President has done through his policies that have ensured the uplifting of women’s lives,” she said.

“We are grateful to all young women and the people of Zimbabwe for giving the President another mandate to lead the country to prosperity.”
