“YOUR SHODDY SERVICE IS NOT WORTH US$5!” Teen runs wild and bashes sex worker

A NIGHT of pleasure turned into a brawl when an 18-year-old Silobela man viciously assaulted a sex worker after claiming she didn’t give him “value for money.”
The incident occurred on 21 September 2025 at Springvest Night Club in Silobela around 9pm. According to a statement from the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), the teenager engaged the victim for a “short time” at an agreed fee of US$5.

But once the act was done, the young man allegedly demanded his money back, accusing the woman of “underperforming.” When she refused, he snapped.
“The offender picked up an empty bottle and struck the victim on the forehead before punching her several times while pulling her dreadlocks,” said the NPAZ.

The brutal attack left the woman bleeding and in shock as stunned revellers watched the chaos unfold inside the popular night spot. Bouncers later intervened and handed the teenager over to the police.
The Kwekwe Magistrates’ Court convicted him of assault and handed down a 12-month jail term, which was wholly suspended on condition that he performs 315 hours of community service.

The NPAZ condemned the incident, reminding the public that violence is never the solution to disagreements.
“The NPAZ urges members of the public to desist from senseless violent acts that have serious ramifications. Disagreements are better solved amicably through seeking third-party mediation,” the authority said.
