Miss Apphia Nyasha Musavengana, President of the Concord for Young Women in Business Global and AFRICA-ASIA SADC Deputy Youth Leader, has expressed gratitude for being named among the 100 African Iconic Personalities of the Year and for receiving the prestigious Patrice Lumumba Leadership Excellence and Integrity Award.
In an interview, Miss Musavengana said the Excellence and Integrity Award serves as a reminder that authentic leadership, integrity, and service still matter in shaping the continent’s future.
“This recognition is not just a personal honour but a powerful affirmation of the work being done to uplift young people across Africa and Asia.”
Miss Musavengana emphasised that the accolades carry both encouragement and responsibility.
“To be honoured on that global stage is a testament to the collective effort of every young person and every young woman like me who believes that change begins with us. This award represents hope for me, responsibility, and the power of unity.
“I see this award and ambassadorship as tools to expand my impact. I will work towards amplifying youth and women empowerment, utilising my platform to strengthen programmes under my organisation while creating more opportunities in entrepreneurship, digital innovation, and leadership capacity.”

Miss Musavengana reaffirmed her commitment to driving the Agenda 2030 initiative and expanding her advocacy for integrity and ethical leadership among young Africans.
“I hope my ambassadorship and advocacy will continue to encourage other young girls and create opportunities to empower the youth.”
“I will also be creating connections between youth in entrepreneurship, tourism, industry, and trade. It is my hope that my ambassadorship and advocacy will continue to encourage other young women and create opportunities to empower the youth,” she said.
Miss Musavengana extended her gratitude to the Iconic Global Summit Awards and to President Mnangagwa, crediting his administration’s engagement and re-engagement policies for paving the way for young Zimbabweans to be recognised globally.
She also thanked African Heads of State for embracing youth inclusion and supporting partnerships in women’s empowerment across the continent.
