Youth entrepreneur of the Week

This week we shine our light on Mr Nyasha Chasakara (pictured).

In 2015, Mr Chasakara installed a solar water heater in his home to reduce his electricity bill.

It worked so well that he decided to start Solarpro, a company that provides solar solutions to homes and businesses.

His goal is to help people save money and gain energy independence.

Mr Chasakara quickly realised that going solar was not easy.

The upfront costs were high, so he set out to find a way to make solar energy more affordable and accessible.

In December 2023, Solarpro launched its rent-to-own programme. This initiative allows customers to pay for their solar system over time, with no upfront costs.

The programme has been a success, with Solarpro already powering dozens of homes.

Mr Chasakara is committed to making solar power accessible to everyone. He is working to expand Solarpro’s reach to all corners of Zimbabwe and beyond.

He is also committed to staying at the forefront of solar technology so that he can offer his customers the most efficient and cost-effective systems possible.

By making solar power more affordable, Solarpro is helping to create a brighter, more sustainable future for Zimbabwe.
