The Zanu PF Youth League has released a song accompanied by a video to celebrate of President Mnangagwa’s 79th birthday which was yesterday.

The song outlines notable achievements in the country since the onset of the New Dispensation in 2017 led by President Mnangagwa.

This came as people from various quarters yesterday joined President Mnangagwa in celebrating his birthday, with newspapers and other social media carrying numerous messages posted by corporates and individuals.

In his congratulatory message, Zanu PF acting secretary for Youth Affairs Tendai Chirau, who oversaw production of the song’s video, saluted President Mnangagwa for his visionary leadership which has seen an increase in youth participation in various sectors of the economy.

“On this day in 1942, unto us a leader was born. His Excellency the President and First Secretary of Zanu PF, Head of State and Commander-in-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, Cde ED Mnangagwa, turns 79 today.

“He is a revolutionary liberator, a transformer who has dedicated his life to the emancipation of Zimbabwe from a tender age. He has made unprecedented strides in the social, economic and political arena since assuming the Presidential office in 2017.

“For the youth in particular, as Zanu PF Youth League in our rank and file throughout the structures, we take this opportunity, the occasion of his 79th birthday, to acknowledge and cherish the contributions Cde ED Mnangagwa continues to make to our lives.”

Cde Chirau said the song and the video were a special tribute to President Mnangagwa and outlines notable achievements since he took office in 2017.

“This is a Zanu PF Youth League production wholly produced by the Youth League. We worked with some talented artistes to produced the video. It was produced by Conical Towers and Donald Mabido.

“The video is celebrating His Excellency through the arts. This is how we came up with the idea, which is very important. Some celebrate through singing, some through jumping and some through dancing, but all in all, we harnessed the talent of youths and came up with such a beautiful song.

“Most importantly, the video was done to celebrate the life of our President who is selfless and determined to ensure that our country progresses and enjoys peace. The President is leading a revolutionary transformation in the social, economic and political spheres of the country.

“The name of the group is 2030 Custodians. As a youths, we had in mind the idea that the Vision 2030 was meant for us young people and we wanted to celebrate that.”

Cde Chirau outlined notable achievements which were ushered in by the New Dispensation to raise the living standards of youths.

“The appointments of young cadres as Cabinet Ministers and Permanent Secretaries has increased the participation of youths in  politics and decision making. The establishment of youth empowerment vehicles such as the Empower Bank also signifies the President’s vision to uplift the youth.

“Unrestrained commitment to availing of land to youths and  harnessing their creative and productive potential through establishment of innovation hubs in universities and other institutions of higher learning is another way of involving youths in infrastructural development underpinned by the devolution agenda.

“An astute, composite national development thrust enshrined in Vision 2030, is not just mere talk, but buttressed by robust strategies to achieve it in the form of NDS1 and other policies.”
