ZANU PF Mazowe District Coordinating Committee (DCC) Youth Affairs, led by Cde Timothy Gorejena, on Thursday donated refuse bins to Mvurwi Town Council in a gesture that underscored the youth league’s growing advocacy for clean environments while intensifying mobilisation ahead of the National Cell Day slated for tomorrow.

The handover ceremony, attended by party leaders, youth affiliates and community members, highlighted the youth league’s dual thrust of environmental responsibility and grassroots political organisation, as the party prepares for the crucial cell-based mobilisation exercise tomorrow.

Addressing the gathering, Cde Gorejena said the donation was part of a deliberate effort by the youth to complement Government programmes on environmental management and service delivery, while also using development-oriented initiatives to strengthen party structures at cell level.

” As the youth league we are mobilising young people across Mvurwi for the National Cell Day, be active participants in both party and Government programmes.

” We continue urging you to shun drug abuse as the scourge is derailing meaningful participation and discipline within the party.”

Cde Gorejena reaffirmed the youth league’s commitment to working with all Zanu PF affiliates in pursuit of the national development vision espoused by President Mnangagwa.

Zanu PF Youth League National Political Commissar Cde Tsungai Makumbe, who is also the Member of Parliament for Mazowe North, commended the Mazowe DCC Youth Affairs for what he described as visible, practical and people-centred leadership.

” As youth you should roll out more programmes that enhance the visibility of Zanu PF and deepen its roots within communities,” he said.

Cde Makumbe pledged to facilitate employment opportunities for youths in Mvurwi, particularly within tobacco auction companies, as part of efforts to economically empower young people and anchor them in productive activities.

Meanwhile, Mazowe District DCC chairman, Cde Saul Mujongondi, also hailed the youth league for taking a leading role in development and mobilisation.

” As a party we encourage all Mvurwi residents to join ZANU PF, is the only credible vehicle for development.”

” I further urge you all to form more party affiliates to broaden participation and strengthen our grassroots structures.”

He appealed to Chief Makope to expedite the establishment of village heads (sabhuku) in Mvurwi, citing concerns over increasing activities that run contrary to cultural values in the fast-growing town.
