ZANU PF Youth League, led by deputy secretary for Commissariat Cde Taurai Kandishaya, recently presented the philosophy of “Nyika Inovakwa Nevene Vayo” (A Country is built by its own people) at the Natural Resource Development College in Zambia.
Addressing the audience, Cde Kandishaya emphasised the philosophy’s importance in protecting Zimbabwe and driving development amidst relentless sabotage.
He said the philosophy, rooted in self-reliance, empowerment and resilience, challenges the notion of external dependency for development.
“Nyika Inovakwa Nevene Vayo” aligns with the decolonisation theory and Pan-Africanism. It advocates for self-determination, economic independence, and the dismantling of colonial structures,” Cde Kandishaya said.
He also highlighted President Mnangagwa’s continuation of this Pan-African legacy, emphasising the need for African nations to take control of their destinies.
“The philosophy also presents a unique approach to development financing,” Cde Kandishaya said.
“It prioritises domestic resource mobilisation, reducing dependency on external actors and fostering a sense of ownership. This contrasts with traditional models that rely heavily on external debt and aid.”
Cde Kandishaya also highlighted Zimbabwe’s success in implementing the philosophy despite the challenges posed by sanctions, showcasing the resilience and determination of the Zimbabwean people.
