‘Youth vote vital for victory’ — Cde Sibanda

PRESIDENT Mnangagwa and his Zanu-PF parliamentary and council candidates will romp to victory riding on the back of a strong youth vote, the ruling party’s Bulawayo provincial chairman Cde Jabulani Sibanda, said yesterday.

He was speaking at a fun day organised by Emakhandeni/Luveve constituency candidate, Cde Brian Samuriwo, at Chigumira grounds in Luveve suburb.

The event also saw over 200 youths that passed driving licence courses, brick laying and nurse aide courses sponsored by the Brian Samuriwo Foundation being presented before the community and Zanu-PF leadership to show the real empowerment done by Cde Samuriwo.

Young and old people, clad in full Zanu-PF regalia, converged at Chigumira Shopping Centre grounds to witness the event and show support for the revolutionary party and President Mnangagwa ahead of the harmonised elections this Wednesday.

“I’m happy to see that the majority of people here are the youths, the future of Zimbabwe, and my message to you the young people is that Zanu-PF will romp to victory and President Mnangagwa will win this election because of your vote,” said Cde Sibanda.

“Cde Samuriwo has shown that he is a servant of the people of Emakhandeni and Luveve residents by making sure that the young people in front of us right now (graduates) are equipped with skills to make a living for themselves.”

The huge turnout in Luveve is testimony that the revolutionary party is a party of choice for both the old and the young, he said.

Zanu-PF Bulawayo provincial secretary-general Cde Raymond Mutambo said the youth vote is very vital for a resounding victory.

“Cde Samuriwo is a son who grew up here in Luveve. The community asked him to represent them in Parliament because he is doing so much for the constituency,” he said.

“Let’s support him and President Mnangagwa by voting for Zanu-PF on Wednesday. Emakhandeni/Luveve constituency deserves a leader like Cde Samuriwo who works hard for the people.”

Cde Samuriwo, through his foundation, has been sponsoring the youths in several self-empowerment initiatives. Being a Luveve-born cadre, Cde Samuriwo says giving back to the community comes naturally.

For the last four months, the Brian Samuriwo Foundation, has been running a free medical health checks and free medication programme in the Emakhandeni/Luveve constituency.

The foundation runs a weekly programme where four doctors and a pharmacist visit different sites in constituency giving free health checks and medication.

“I grew up in Luveve, I played and ran in the Luveve streets as a child and many of the senior citizens that come for the health checks are my parents. It’s important to take care of our elders and parents, they did so much for us,” he said.

“Today we are here to celebrate the youths who graduated in various courses. Thank you Emakhandeni/Luveve constituency, let’s vote Zanu-PF and vote for our President,” said Cde Samuriwo.
