Youths call for tourism fund

THE Zimbabwe Youths in Tourism has urged the incoming Zanu-PF Government to establish a fund to assist young people involved in the sector.
ZYT national chairman Mr Stewart Mtizwa said that there was also need for the incoming Government to take deliberate moves to promote participation of youths in the tourism and hospitality industry.
Mr Mtizwa said youths involved tourism were finding it difficult to establish foot holds in the industry due to lack of funds.
“We hope that the incoming Zanu-PF Government will establish a fund that will be accessed by youths in tourism because our operations are mainly being hamstrung by inability to access funds,” he said.

“We hope that the new Government will also carry forward with some of the positive policies that were being pursued over past four years as they have assisted the tourism industry register remarkable recovery and growth.”

He said some of the policies that youths in tourism wanted to continue included the duty free importation of goods and vehicles used in the industry.
Mr Mtizwa said this would assist the youths and the industry as a whole to expand. — New Ziana.
