Youths need support:Mujuru

for them to benefit from the country’s economic empowerment drive, Vice President Joice Mujuru has said.

VP Mujuru said no country could move forward when it’s young people were entrapped in cycles of poverty, unemployment and underemployment.

She made the remarks while officially opening the national conference on youth skills for employment, entrepreneurship and industry growth in Harare this morning.

Said VP Mujuru: “No nation can boast of having a bright future when its youths are constrained by social and cultural tendencies that hinder their progress. They need support from Government, development agencies and the communities at large.”

The conference, that ends on Wednesday, is being attended by youths, officials from the private sector and business experts with the view finding strategies that ensure development and empowerment of youths.
