YOUTHS should shun divisions, embrace the party constitution and put shoulder to the wheel to ensure a resounding Zanu PF victory in the forthcoming harmonised elections.
Speaking at a preparatory meeting of the second constitutional national executive that will be held today where President Mnangagwa and the top party leadership are expected to attend, Cde Machakaire, said no one is bigger than Zanu PF and youths should always learn from their leaders.
“No one is the above the party, neither myself nor yourself comrades, we need to respect the party constitution,” said Cde Machakaire.
At the meeting, the Zanu PF Youth League Secretary for Administration, Cde Tendai Chiwetu, was cleared following a suspension on abuse of office charges.
Cde Machakaire warned senior party members bent on dividing the party’s rank and file to stop such tendencies.
“As the vanguard of the party, let’s not use hate speech against each other. We are there to stand for each other, we are there to support the party, we are there to build our party. I am encouraging each one of us to stop hate speech,” he said.
Cde Machakaire also congratulated youth league members who sailed through in the just ended Zanu PF primary elections.
The Zanu PF young Turks vowed to keep and preserve the legacy of the party by winning resoundingly in the forthcoming harmonised elections this year.
Some of the national Youth League members who sailed through in the primary elections are Cde Machakaire, his deputy Cde John Paradza, Cdes Tsungai Makumbe, Naledi Maunganidze, Taurai Kandishaya, Emmerson Raradza and Isaac Tasikani among others.
Cde Ngonidzashe Mudekunye, who won against incumbent Member of Parliament Cde Joseph Chinotimba in Buhera South, said he has the zeal and energy to work for the party and represent the Buhera South community in Parliament.
Cde Sam Matema from Buhera Central Constituency weighed in saying he is confident of reclaiming the seat for Zanu PF.
Dr Benjamin Ganyiwa, who sailed through in Gutu East and Buhera North constituency aspirant Cde Phillip Guyo, promised to change the face of the area through empowerment projects.
Cde Tendai Mapisa won in Ward 18, Marondera West constituency where he promised to deliver for the party.
He urged the youths to work hard to ensure a resounding victory for Zanu PF in the harmonised elections.
Cde Admire Mahachi, who trounced veteran politician Cde Mike Madiro in Mutare North constituency, said the party was bigger than individuals.
